Guidelines
Fund-A-Bull Bulldogs in Rescue Guidelines
Fund-A-Bull Bulldogs in Rescue (Fund A Bull) provides nonprofit rescue organizations across the United States with the opportunity to apply for grant funding. All funding decisions are made on a case-by-case basis, and applicants will be notified in writing (by letter or email) of their grant status.
To qualify, rescues must have active 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and file previous year taxes/990. Grants are awarded to support spay and neuter services, veterinary care, and other medical expenses. Because Fund A Bull receives far more applications than it can fund each year, many deserving applicants may unfortunately not receive grants.
Grants are awarded for specific dogs requiring medical assistance. The amount of funding provided will depend on the level of need. Each application is carefully evaluated based on the organization’s needs, the services it provides, and the quality of its management and financial practices.
Fund A Bull does NOT provide funding for:
-
Organizations without active 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status
-
Organizations located outside the United States or using grant funds internationally
-
Organizations that do not focus on Bulldogs
-
Organizations with paid board members
-
Organizations whose total staff salaries exceed 10% of their annual income
Eligible Rescues/Applicant Requirements:
1. Must be a Bulldog Rescue (or a rescue caring for a bulldog currently in need).
2. Must provide a current copy of the 501(c)(3) certificate along with the organization’s EIN.
3. Must have filed a Form 990 tax return for the previous year.
4. Priority consideration is given to rescues helping the following breeds:
-
English Bulldog
-
French Bulldog
-
American Bulldog
-
Olde English Bulldogge
-
Bulldog mixes
5. Funds must be used for medical expenses. For rescues that kennel, payments may be made directly to the veterinarian.
6. Fund A Bull reserves the right to share information about awarded grants—including photos and application details—on its website, social media, and promotional materials.
7. Fund A Bull reserves the right to make payments directly to the veterinary provider.
Required Follow-Up
Rescues are required to provide follow-up information for the specific dog that received funding, including:
-
Veterinary receipts showing how the funds were used
-
Photos of the dog with a brief written update on the dog’s progress
Fund A Bull loves to celebrate success stories and share “pupdates” of bulldogs finding their forever homes!
